Sketching and doodling my way to a final aesthetic
After extensive research, discussion with the Creative Director, Video Producer and Animator and solidifying a concept I start exploring visuals with hand rendered sketches.
From “Party Smarter” to “Fresh Festive Flavors”
Once a title of the video series was finalized I created a vector version of the logotype for the title and used it as a template to sketch the different elements within each letterform. At this point of the process the client decided to throw a curveball and change the title of the video series. Due to the tight turnaround I was unable to sketch out the elements in a revised version of the vector format of the title card and the elements were rearranged during the animation phase.
Adding splashes of color for guidance and reference
After animatics of the elements were completed adding color was the next step. To aid the animators I created a quick color study of the logotype referencing colors from site it was to run on - Momtastic.com also staying true to the title itself and created a “Fun” & ”Festive” color palette of bright and warm colors.
